Terms of Service

These terms explain how you can use EstudyLog, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. Please read them carefully before using the app.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using EstudyLog (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What the Service provides

The Service offers tools to help students plan, track, and analyze study sessions. Core features include session logging, streak and trend analytics, spaced repetition guidance, and secure syncing.

Platform requirement: The current build targets iOS and iPadOS 17.6 or later. Some features may require Background App Refresh and widget permissions.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have parental or guardian permission.

Your responsibilities

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
  • Keep your account information accurate and secure.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Respect intellectual property and privacy rights of others.

Subscriptions & billing

EstudyLog currently offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (“EstudyLog Premium”). Pricing may vary by region and currency. When purchasing through Apple:

  • Your Apple ID is charged upon confirmation.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Renewal charges occur within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions or in the App Store.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple; we cannot process App Store refunds directly.
  • You can restore purchases on any device using the same Apple ID.

User content and license

You retain ownership of the study data, notes, and content you add. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service.

Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Upload malicious code, automated scripts, or content that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • Harass, threaten, or violate the privacy of other users.

Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the Service (excluding user content) are owned by EstudyLog. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

Service availability & modifications

We strive to keep the Service available, but outages or maintenance may occur. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice when possible.

Third-party services

The Service may integrate with third-party platforms (e.g., Apple, Firebase). Using those services may require acceptance of their separate terms and policies.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a harmful way. You may stop using the Service at any time. Certain provisions (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers) survive termination.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EstudyLog and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill resulting from your use of the Service.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EstudyLog, its affiliates, and team members from any claims or damages arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Local mandatory protections may still apply.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice within the app or by email.
